This causes us to be even more inefficient, as we use the tools and technology, but still do meetings as we have always done. It's a form of feature creep.

If you feel that meetings are necessary, can I convince you to flirt with the idea? Just try for the next week. If you are really daring, try it for a month. If you can't do that, talk to your everyone about at least shortening the time. If you are already doing everything you can and you want to increase your productivity, you are going to have to stop doing something.
