Boredom and phones fuel endless scrolling and doom-scrolling. Addiction to our phones is largely driven by boredom, instinct, and habit. This passive activity, masked as actual activity robs us of our time and focus. Today, I'll share three tips to help you break free from this cycle: carrying a pocket notebook, like Field Notes, Moleskine or Leuchthturm, switching to a dumb phone, using an app like Blank Spaces and using what I call The Pocket Switch.
These strategies aim to create friction in our phone use, promoting intentionality and mindfulness.
