The Daily 10/10: 10-Minute Tasks to Move the Needle in Your Business

Time is the most precious commodity for a one-person business.

Whether you’re balancing client calls, managing a household, or building your dream during the baby’s nap time, finding time for meaningful business development can feel impossible.

But here’s the cold hard reality: you don’t need hours to make progress. All you need is focus and a plan.

You’re already feeling overwhelmed. Stuck. Like you’re in quick sand, sinking slowly, thinking about all the things you have to do.

Feeling like you’re just not making progress?

That’s where the Daily 10/10 comes in.

Inspired by the philosophy of Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, who famously said, “You can do so much in ten minutes. Ten minutes, once gone, are gone for good. Divide your life into ten-minute units and sacrifice as few of them as possible in meaningless activity,” this system is built to maximize your limited time.

It’s not about doing “all the things.” It’s about doing the right things—the ones that drive revenue, build relationships, and grow your business—broken into bite-sized, actionable steps. Let’s break it down.

You know you need to market yourself, connect with clients, and grow your audience—but let’s be honest: who has the time?

Recording and editing a 10-minute YouTube lead generation video can easily eat up three hours. Writing a 1,000-word SEO article takes focus, research, and revisions you might not have the bandwidth for.

And don’t even get started on the prep time for an hour-long podcast—it's overwhelming just thinking about it.

It’s not that these activities aren’t valuable; it’s that they demand time and energy most solo entrepreneurs simply don’t have. If you’re balancing a business with household responsibilities, a side hustle, or a full-time job, the prospect of adding one more big project to your plate can feel paralyzing.

The more overwhelmed you feel, the easier it becomes to procrastinate. Suddenly, your social media goes quiet, your emails to leads go unsent, and your audience starts to forget you exist. You lose momentum.

And when you’re a one-person business, momentum is everything.

You don’t need hours to make meaningful progress.

You need the right activities. Consistently.

Enter The Daily 10/10—10 tasks, 10 minutes each.

This idea focuses on high-impact, bite-sized actions you can squeeze into even the busiest day. Whether you’re waiting in the school pickup line or enjoying your morning coffee, these tasks are designed to help you stay consistent, productive, and profitable without burning out.

And keep in mind, you don’t have to do them all, everyday. Pick one here. Do another there. Get in what you can fit in.

Let’s dive into the 10 tasks that make this system work.

The Daily 10/10

1. Work and Sort New Leads

Why This Is Important:
New leads are the lifeblood of your business. Without a system to organize and prioritize them, you risk missing opportunities. This task ensures you focus on the hottest prospects and put the rest on an appropriate follow-up track.

What to Do: Open your CRM or lead list, review new sign ups, requests, etc. Decide how to follow up and/or where to move them to next. Assign next steps like follow-ups or outreach.

2. Contact Engaged/Hot Leads

Why This Is Important:
Engaged leads are showing you they’re ready to take action. Reaching out promptly keeps the momentum going and demonstrates your commitment to helping them. This task directly impacts your revenue pipeline.

What to Do: Reach out to 3-5 leads who have shown interest. Saved, clicked, engaged, etc.

How to Do It:

  • Be direct and specific: “Hi [Name], I saw you [downloaded/requested] [resource]—are you ready to [action]?”

  • “Do you have any favorite properties you’d like to see?”

  • Keep the tone helpful, not pushy, and offer a clear next step.

3. Send an Ice Breaker to Old/Dead Leads

Why This Is Important:
Old leads aren’t dead—they’re just waiting for the right moment or nudge to re-engage. By reconnecting, you’re showing that you’re still invested in helping them achieve their goals, making it more likely they’ll return when the time is right.

What to Do: Reconnect with 2-3 leads who haven’t engaged in a while.

How to Do It:

  • Use a friendly, no-pressure message like:

  • “Hi [Name], are you still interested in [specific goal]?”

  • “Have you given up on [specific goal}?

  • Mention a relevant update or resource they might find valuable.

4. Engage on 4 Social Media Posts

Why This Is Important:
Social media is about connection, not just broadcasting. Thoughtful engagement builds relationships and keeps you visible to prospects and clients. It’s a simple but powerful way to show up consistently.

What to Do: Interact meaningfully with posts from your prospects, clients, or industry peers.

How to Do It:

  • Like their post, leave a thoughtful comment, or reply to their story.

  • Example: “Love this insight, [Name]! I’ve seen the same trend—how are you addressing it?”

5. Share a Post, 7-Second Reel, or 1-Minute Video

Why This Is Important:
Video content builds trust faster than any other format. Sharing quick, relatable insights establishes you as an authority in your niche while keeping you top-of-mind for your audience.

What to Do: Share a quick tip, insight, or behind-the-scenes moment in video form.

How to Do It:

  • Keep it simple: Use your phone, speak clearly, and focus on one idea.

  • Example: “Here’s the #1 mistake I see [your audience] make—and how to avoid it.”

  • Caption 200-250 words, strong CTA

6. Share a Quick Win on Stories (Or ABC)

Why This Is Important:
Stories provide a low-pressure way to showcase your expertise and results. Highlighting quick wins reminds your audience of your capabilities and keeps your business visible in their feeds.

What to Do: Post a client success, a milestone, an actionable tip or what you’re currently working on to your Instagram or Facebook Stories.

How to Do It:

  • Use an image, short video, or text overlay.

  • Example: “Just helped a client [achieve X]. Here’s how we did it!”

  • Example: “Looking at a property by the river.”

7. Private Message/Call/Text 4 People (Connected 150)

Why This Is Important:
Your strongest opportunities often come from your closest network. Regularly reaching out to your “Connected 150” ensures you maintain strong relationships and stay top-of-mind for referrals and collaborations.

What to Do: Reach out to your core group of clients, referral partners, or collaborators to strengthen relationships.

How to Do It:

  • Example message: “Hi [Name], I thought of you when I saw [specific topic]. How’s everything going on your end?”

  • Keep it conversational, and don’t make it all about business.

8. Friend or Follow 4 New People

Why This Is Important:
Your network is your net worth. Expanding your connections with intention ensures you’re always building relationships that could lead to new opportunities or partnerships down the line.

What to Do: Add or follow 4 people who align with your goals.

How to Do It:

  • Identify potential clients, referral partners, or industry influencers.

  • Engage lightly with their content after connecting (like/comment).

9. Post an Ice Breaker on Stories/Feed

Why This Is Important:
Ice breakers start conversations. They’re not just for engagement—they provide insights into what your audience wants and needs, helping you serve them better.

What to Do: Offer a resource, guide, article, video, worksheet to get people to say that’d like that.

How to Do It:

  • Example: “Want to turn your leads into clients faster? Comment SPEED for a quick video on how to do that.”

  • How to create the perfect lead magnet that attracts prospects and grows your email list. Want the worksheet? 👇 “WORKSHEET”

  • I just uploaded a guide to triple your productivity and be more present at home. Want the download link?

  • Use the responses to start conversations or gather insights.

10. Draft a New Idea for Content

Why This Is Important:
Content keeps your audience engaged, educated, and connected to your brand. Brainstorming regularly ensures you always have fresh ideas in the pipeline, ready to be turned into posts, emails, or videos.

What to Do: Spend 10 minutes brainstorming a topic or concept that resonates with your audience.

How to Do It:

  • Focus on solving a pain point. Example: “What’s the biggest myth about [topic]?”

  • Outline 3 quick points or tips related to the idea to save for later.
